FIRST OFF: IT RAINED!!

Hey Friendlies!

I hope everyone had a good weekend. I sure did. Started off by my sister sending me this sweet sweet pic of my baby lady Ava Cate. GAW, I could just eat her up she is so cute. 

Friday night - Bob Schnieder {Schneider?} with some friends.... Veronica met her man... see below.

Then Saturday some girlfriends and I Bachelorett-ed out hearts out with our very own Bachelorette, Erica. It was really fun - we wore wigs, ate yummy food, had some cocktails, made a spirit line, and danced!

and then we had brunch at SMOKE.... best BBQ {and mimosas!}

Well............ that just about sums up all my weekend excitement. OH, did you guys watch the VMA'S? I sure did. Those were fun.

Good Greets ya'll! IT'S FINALLY FRIDAY! wooo hooo! Big plans this weekend? I have big plans... a super fun bachelorette party saturday, and before that.... Bob Schneider acoustic show tonight with my guuuuuurl Veronica. I don't know much of him, but what I do know of, I really like. :) Plus the venue is pretty incredible. And I love seeing musicians live with friends who are just SO OBSESSED with them... like, I want to see what he is all about because he just melts my friend V's heart and I'd like to see that! And hey.... I want my heart to melt, too. Here is a video just in case you don't know of BOB. Also, I hear he is funny. Bonus!

Next up is this group called, "Fang Island" - I just heard of them today from someone with a very good ear & taste {of or in} music.... so I gave it a go and I just love it. It is suggested that you listen to the album from start to finish... which I did and it's pretty captivating if I do say so myself...  and it gets better with every round. I think I'm on round 5. Give it a shot. Here are two of my favorites.

Thrones / Colorado / Lookout

Hello my friends... :) 


It's thursday! Who's excited?! Me! I have started the HBO series, "Game of Thrones" and I can't wait to spend the entirety of my Thursday evening curled up on my couch with this show. I have only watched one episode but I'm hooked. Who knew that blood, guts, violence, boobs, and "bootay" would be so appealing?? .... oh HBO, you do ya thang. =O My friend Heather gave me the entire season 1 yesterday {which she has in her possession totally legally... ha!} ... so I figured she would be a good one to converse with after my nightly watches - and I was right. I came in this morning, telling her how sad I was that at the end of episode one this cute little boy got pushed out of this window and fell to his death......and what did Heather say? She said, " Haley, he doesn't really die. Just wait." So that made me happy and thrilled to continue the season. On to the next one.... :) 

So, I will go ahead and start my ONE WEEK countdown til meeting up with my family in the mountains. I don't know what it is about that place that I love so much in the summer. It could be the mountains... nice fresh air.... afternoon rain showers.... hiking.... etc... but I think the thing I like most is being with my family... it's like going home even though it's not really where I grew up... and also knowing that I don't have a schedule. We are a "free for all" kind of group and everyone just kind of does their own thing. My dad rides his bike usually every morning then retires to the back porch to read and snooze.... my mom, sister, and I like to go on walks and read {this time there will probably be lots of baby holding!!!} and look through catalogs and magazines and cook yummy food {like spaghetti, tacos, and burgers!},  my BIL likes to take photos and stay active, although I think last year he took his first nap ever... {probably because nothing is better than a nap in the mountains}, and then my brother likes to go fishing and read by the stream. So it's nice... we all just sort of RELAX. This time will be a little different because we will have our sweet little baby girl with us!!!! So since she's never been there we are all going to have to show and tell her all about it. Can't hardly wait. :) Here are some photos from last year...

Well that's really all I have to say today. I hope whoever reads this is doing wonderful and you are having a good day. It FINALLY rained in Texas!!!!!!!!! It's a miracle! ;)

Hey Friendlies! 

So, last night a few of my great girlfriends came over for the {dun dun dun } SOMETHING BORROWED WATCH PARTY! My friend A.Rose summed up our night perfectly.... "carbs, wine, great friends, john krasinski, bon qui qui, what more could a girl ask for! =)" My friend Mariana was also just FULL of opinions throughout the whole movie. It was hilarious. Her observations told us that, "oh my gosh. I'm Kate Hudson," Kate Hudson has a double chin and looks fat, Ginnifer Goodwin is wearing a wig " That wig is AWFUL!", Ginnfer Goodwin has on terrible clothes " what ARE those shorts?", and Colin Egglesfield got hotter as the movie progressed, "Okay, I guess he is kind of hott....those eyes." Hahaha. I also sat by Mariana in the movie theater while we watched The Help. .. she did the same thing - lots of outspoken, normal volume conversation commentary.... not the normal, every once in a while "whisper to your neighbor" type thing... it's always full on front facing comments. I am having "silent shaking laughter" right now just thinking about it. Oh, M.... I love you.

A Guy That Can Dance.....

......... And has a north eastern accent. In this case, a Boston accent. WEAK AT THA KNEES...

So, last night I went to the movies with a few friendlies. "Friends with Benefits" - already seen it but I stuck around because I needed some junior mints. {We were there to see Horrible Bosses but they canceled the showing because they needed an extra theater for "The Help"} ANYWAYS.

So, a while back.... I think in college or something... so a few years ago, I was really into this show called, " Dance Life" on MTV. I LOVE watching people dance hip/hop really well. And the guys who dance really well and wear baggy sweatpants or bball shorts, baggy hoodies, high tops, and a flat bill/rim {whatever its called} cap.... well, they just take over a soft spot in my heart. :) SO, on the show I was like IN LOVE with this guy, Kenny. He has this THICK BOSTON ACCENT and dressed kinda thuggish, but like attractive thuggish... and ya know... I was into it. {haha} So, naturally, in my creepy way... I looked him up on youtube so I could watch him dance.... he has danced for Justin Timberlake, JLO, Christina Aguilera - so he is really talented. Here is a clip of him. 

Am I right? I mean.... if you aren't on you tube right now looking for more videos... YOU CRAZY! There was definitely a time when I would watch these vids all day. They are just mesmerizing. I LOVE this look on fellas. And I think the only appropriate way to describe him at this point would be,  "SOoOoO FINE!" Haha. 

K, so what brought this up? WELL. Last night at the movie they showed a preview for the remake of "Footloose" - now, does it look good? No, not especially. I hope it is though. But am I going to see it and probably own it? YOU BETTA BELIEVE IT! :) I had a mild freak attack last night when I saw him. I mean..... DANG. {Okay, I'm done.}

Welp, we made it through the week. I saw "The Help" last night. It was SOOOOO good. :) What a tear jerker. Too many mean folk in the movie... but it was great. Go see it. I also started " The Choice" by Nicholas Sparks... and in total chick lit fashion, it has me grinning ear to ear the whole time. UGH.... I love it. I am more than halfway done. I went home and curled up on my couch at lunch and read for an hour.... best lunch ever {not really, but close}. Anywho - I can't wait to run home and carry on reading until I finish it. And I just want to say... I am pretty proud of myself for finishing a book in a week like I said I would. That almost never happens. :)
